The locking assembly (or expansion sleeve) is a kind of keyless connection component used for transmitting torque, axial force, or a composite load of both, and it includes two types: expansion type and locking type. It relies on friction transmission, no relative motion, no weakening effect on the connected components. It can protect equipment in case of overload because of its disengagement function; it tolerates some shaft and bore machining deviation, does not need to be heated, cooled or pressurized for installation, and features simple structure, high strength, easy mounting and dismounting, good interchangeability and long service life, etc. Locking assembly is widely used in metallurgy, machine tools, electric power, aerospace and other industries for axial connection of mechanical equipment.
